So this is my first time trying to be a blogger on the website my wonderful son created for my writing. The first thing I will be addressing is...well... Myself. I've been creatively writing since High School, but never seriously until around 4 years ago. I've always loved horror and science fiction. Some of my favorite authors and influences are Edgar Allen Poe, Michael Crichton, Justin Cronin and of course Stephen King. I read whatever I can get my hands on, but those are just a few of my favorites. I know that there are many Stephen King disparaging writers out there, but I think he's the best when it comes to both characters and world building. So anyway, back to me... I started my second novel last year (the first one went in the trash) and it's finished. It's the story of a phlebotomist (my day job) that always fears the worst, in fact it's so bad he has constant panic attacks whenever a major catastrophe happens around the world. Well, the worst happens to him. He meets a girl. Then all the nukes go off and he manages to survive. He comes out and lots of bad things are around including the devastated planet. He has to ride his bike to Maine to save the woman he loves and his town. When he's gone the shit hits the fan and all sorts of sadistic stuff happens in his hometown....
