My last horror question asked if you believe in Cryptozoology, Ufology or if you’ve ever seen a UFO. It seems the more I look into this the more strange and interesting things I find. Today I’m going to focus on UFO’s. The month of March has come with an abundance of UFO sightings Some examples . This article doesn’t even go into additional activity at the International Space Station.
So either there are a lot of people out there who want to believe or there have actually been an increase in the amount of UFO activity recently. I’ve seen some crazy stuff in the sky, I think everyone probably has, but I can’t say that I’ve seen anything that can’t be explained or that was definitely an alien craft.
I have to believe that in this vast incredible galaxy that other life exists. I think we would be naive to believe otherwise. Are we so egotistical that we think in a universe that exists of millions of planets and solar systems that we live on the only planet suitable for life? I know that I also want to believe. Being a huge Sci-Fi fan and someone that considers themselves to have a vivid imagination I love the idea of strange exotic creatures living out there somewhere.
The problem becomes when the internet, movies and tabloids, play up on that “want” and attempt to turn it into fact. It isn’t a problem that it exists, hell my whole world revolves around the internet, movies and news of the weird. The problem is that it makes people so much more open to suggestion. Things become lost in all of the noise and it’s hard to separate fiction from fact.
The more movies I see about aliens the more I want it to be true. So of course there are people out there that will play up on that and put stuff out there that is almost assuredly charlatan in nature. The hoaxes have become so efficient and believable that even if aliens were to come here we’d probably chalk it up to some elaborate Hollywood stunt.
On to the Horror question of the day: If aliens were to visit our planet do you think they’d come here in peace or would they come to take over and rip us apart for a nice alien snack?
